QUALITY
We believe that quality is the best business plan. The quality of our workmanship is directly correlated with our success. We work hard to stay at the top of our game and never settle for the“industry standard”.
INTEGRITY
We believe that integrity is what sets us apart. Being honest with our team, our clients, and ourselves gives us an opportunity to grow and sets the stage for a successful project and enjoyable process.
PROFESSIONALISM
We believe that professionalism is listening not just hearing, humbly accepting criticism, focusing on the task at hand, being responsive and prompt, and doing all of this with consistency.
The three characteristics that have shaped and guided our company
OUR TEAM

CHRIS
Chris the founder and equity owner of Elysian LLC. Since 2002, he’s been building high end residential homes for some of the most well known architects and contractors in New England. His commitment to quality in not only his construction methods but the building experience as a whole, is second only to his desire for integrity and professionalism. Chris’s number one responsibility is to bring order and direction to our projects, our company, and our building process. He is also passionate about our planet and reducing our negative impact on our environment. Chris grew up in Stonington, CT where he still lives along with his wife Kerianne and their dog Hunter. He enjoys all things outdoors, reading (or listening) to books, and real estate investing.

JOHNEE
Johnee is an equity owner of Elysian LLC. Johnee has over 25 years of experience in building high end custom homes in CT and RI. He has worked along side some of the best builders in the business and on some of the most complicated and demanding projects out there. Johnee loves a challenging build and is always developing new and better strategies to meet the ever-evolving demands of the design world. His focus is to oversee and direct the day-to-day progress of each project. He is also passionate about passing along the wisdom he’s gained to the younger generations of talented craftsmen in order to ensure a bright future for the building industry. Johnee lives in Gales Ferry, CT with his wife Karen and has three children. In his free time, Johnee enjoys spending quality time with his family, weight lifting, and learning new things through documentaries.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Elysian, we are passionate about what we do. We look at our projects as opportunities to make a meaningful impact in our clients' lives. We strive to not just build high performance, quality homes but relationships that will go on for decades. Our network of subcontractors work well together to get projects done on time and on budget with as little complications as possible.
We strive to create an atmosphere of excellence among our team. Reliability, transparency, professionalism, trust, and a positive attitude are the primary building blocks of our success. We stand by our word and are determined to conduct ourselves ethically.
We love our job. And we only network with other subcontractors that share that love. Having an optimistic attitude on our way to work every day is the difference between a successful project and an exhausting one. We continue to cultivate a positive vibe on our projects to empower others to overcome obstacles and allow them to be creative problem solvers.
We believe that our ability to adapt and evolve is our strength. Whether it s a large new construction project, a consultation, a minor repair, or a custom fabrication, we commit to producing only quality products and solutions that our clients can take pride in. Whether our client wants little to no involvement or needs to be involved in every step, we enjoy providing guidance and empowerment to make their dream project a reality.
We know there are a lot of options out there when it comes to choosing the right contractor. That's why we're happy to stop by and introduce ourselves and discuss your project with no obligation.
HOW WE'RE REDUCING OUR FOOTPRINT
There’s always room to improve when it comes to reducing our negative impact on our environment. Here are a few things we’ve implemented recently to do our part.
RECYCLING DUMPSTER
During the course of construction, whether it be a remodel or a new construction home, there are a lot of missed opportunities to recycle. From cardboard window and door packaging to the plastic buckets that our fasteners come in, we’ve decided not to throw everything in the landfill. Instead, we’ve added a recycling dumpster for dunnage that can be sorted and recycled.
IN-HOUSE BLOWER DOOR TESTS
Connecticut and Rhode Island both currently require a new construction home to pass a blower door test to demonstrate minimal air leakage which translates to energy leakage. Each state has a minimum score that needs to be reached in order to pass. But why settle for the minimum? We perform our own tests during the construction process in order to not just meet the state minimum, but exceed it. This allows us to build to a much higher standard.
PREFERENCE TO ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRODUCTS
We are constantly looking for new, innovative and sustainable products on the market that can help us reduce our carbon footprint without sacrificing quality or performance. Unless specifically requested by the designer or client, we choose to use products that are renewable, sustainable, or have biodegradable byproducts. Responsible forestry, non toxic chemical additives, or minimal plastic ingredients are all things we consider when sourcing our material.
